2021 Jeju International Wind Ensemble Festival

U-13 Band Contest

The spirit of music is harmony and cooperation. Playing musical instruments with other people is more than a hobby. It is to learn how to control yourself in music and share emotions with others through consideration and cooperation.

The Jeju International Brass Festival Organizing Committee is holding this contest in the hope that children around the world will grow into healthy-minded citizens who love peace with wind music.

 Schedule

- Deadline : October 29, 2021

- Competition : 13:00 on December 4, 2021

※ The schedule is subject to change.

 Venue

- Jeju Arts Center ( 231, Onam-ro, Jeju-si, Jeju-do, Republic of Korea )

 General Provisions

- The contest is open to children who are 13 or under.

- About 12 minutes will be given to each wind band and it includes entry and exit.

All bands are free to choose a composition to play.

The duration of performance can be changed depending on the number of the band who have applied for the competition.

- Participants will pay for their airfare, transportation and accommodation.

- All the teams will be given a certain amount of monetary prize.

- A trophy and an award certificate shall be given to the Gold, Silver and Bronze Prize winner and the Guidence Teacher Award will be given to one conductor.

- The following percussion instruments will be set on the stage.

Timpani, Bass Drum, Snare Drum, Pair Cymbal, Sus. Sym, Gong, Wind Chime, Temple Block, Drum Set, Conga, Bongo, Glockenspiel, Xylophone, Vibraphone, Marimba, Chime, Piano

 COVID-19

- Every team will be given their own waiting room.

- The overseas participants are to pay for their quarantine expenses.

 Judges

• The judges are seven musicians or conductors renowned inside and outside of Korea.
